Course Description

Prerequisite: None. This course is a non-credit enrichment course that run parallel to EDUC 220 Guiding Children's Social Development and is for community learners who are not in a degree-seeking program. This course assists the learner in applying developmental principals to young children's social development. There is a focus on specific strategies and procedures that will enhance growth of internal self-control. These skills include learning how to listen and talk with young children, methods of effective discipline, and increasing children's ability to make choices. Regular observation of young children is required. [Semesters Offered: Spring]
