Course Description
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in HEED 101. This course provides an understanding of the administrative duties of the medical assistant in a medical office or clinic. This course helps in the development of communication skills in the medical setting and the role of the medical assistant as a member of the health care team. Included is instruction in medical correspondence and records, filing telephone procedures, appointment scheduling, receptionist duties and general office management. A minimum grade of "C" is required in this course prior to enrolling in the internship. [Semesters Offered: Spring]
